Model to practice...
Another long week of cold weather, with some sunshine. This is actually good, it is keeping me focused on my schoolwork instead of dreaming about what I should be getting done out in the yard. I really can't wait until it all melts and the ground thaws so the tulips and crocus' peek through the frigid ground. OK, I indulged myself with one dream.
Now to get back to school thoughts. What I have become aware of that has really changed for me is my awareness of seeking to relate with and identify a students learning style preference. It has always been part of my orientation process for GED Orientation, but I am admitting that it is discussed rather briefly and I never gave it a second thought as to how I presented information or answered questions. Recently, I have been talking more about learning styles and strengths as well as helping students identify their own learning needs and strengths. I believe I will continue to take a more active part in this knowing its importance.
Till next week.
